TWININGS

THE TWININGS PROJECT

A school project in graphic design during the Interaction Designer programme at Linnéuniversitetet where the focus was on redesign and sustainability.

The task was to choose a brand and redesign it and at the same time try to transmit it as a sustainable brand, without falling into the trap of green washing.

I chose to work with the brand Twinings, which is a British tea producer with a long history as it was founded in 1706.

REDESIGNING THE LOGOTYPE

To me it was important that the new logotype still transmitted that Twinings is a brand that stands for quality and tradition as well as its 300 year history as a brand and company. At the same time I wanted to give the logotype a lighter, modern feeling. I chose a serif for the logotype to keep the sense of quality and tradition. The way the letters are divided by a gap in the middle contributes to a lighter feeling.

I wanted to give the packaging a softer expression, conveying that Twining is a company that cares both about the people and the environment that gets affected of their products. My intention was also to address a slightly younger target group.
